Val Salnikov
Director/founder of Biloxi City Ballet.
Originally came from Russia where he danced with the world famous Kirov Ballet.
While taking classes from David Howard, Val met Mikhail Baryshnikov who helped
him receive his Green Card. Val has successfully collaborated with Winton Marsalis
in US and Mstislav Rostropovich in Europe. He is on the staff of Carolina Ballet,
he danced and taught throughout the United States. His students have competed
nationally and internationally. Some of them received contracts with companies
like American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet. In previous years he took
one of his students to dance in Japan. His dream is to bring his
American students to dance in Russia.
